    1870 EK2 with 25 Year Pin

I have been offered this 1870 EK2 with 25 year pin. First I want to determine if it is a good one. Second what are these selling for these days. I would like to make a fair offer for this. That is what the owner has asked for. The ring is marked SW. I dont know if there are any markings on the back of the 25 year pin.
Please let me know what you think.
    Thanks

Seems to see an original Sy und Wagner but IMO the cross was manufactured about 100 years ago and not in the 1870.

I believe it is a 9th bead Fake cross.

I think Trevor is correct. Same style crown and date as the "9th bead fake". Plus--1870s were not marked on the ribbon ring.

I would save my money and wait for a better one to come along.

I think everything matches the Ninth Bead Fake ... except the ninth bead. It was probably removed, either on the core or on the die, in order to hide the most obvious tell. But the core, in every other respect, is a Ninth Bead core. In any case, I wouldn't touch it with a cattle prod.

                It came from a dealer.

The lady that has it for sale bought it from a dealer in the UK a few years ago. I willget the name of the dealer from her.

I consider the Cross to be fake, made of 1914 parts and new core..

What about the oakleaves? Are they original (not much experience with them)?

I´m aksing cause I am searching for 25 Year Oaks and have the chance to grab such a piece

                      greetings
                      Andy

                        Hi Andy,

I personally do not like the '25' oakleaves without the serif numerals, like these. I think original sans serif oaks do exist, but they have a different style. I would not have this set in my personal collection.
                        Best regards,
