Help in identifying an EKII

Please, can someone put a maker to this cross? The frame is used in an early '39 Schinkel, and we are trying to place a maker to this Schinkel.

I don't own the cross, or I would happily add a reverse view. Hopefully someone will recognize the frame details and be able to give us a maker.

Pretty tricky to i.d these from the core only, as they were exchanged between manufacturers BUT, with my eye's bleeding and sore I think it might be a K.A.G. If so, it's the wide crown type that are tough to find these day's

The frame on this one matches my example 97% and the core 100%

Maybe you can check in the database and see if there's a match also.

It's not KAG's typical frame, but they did use this core sometimes.

Here's an old photo of mine (now Jim's) with a KAG:



I've seen a few of these frames that match, but (unusually for Imperials) they have all been unmarked. It's pretty uncommon to find an unmarked Imperial EK of any class. A rough, quick guess would be that 1 in 30 has no marks of any kind.

One other thing about the Imperial EKs: core-swapping among makers was positively epidemic -- a free-for-all unlike anything in TR EKs. So we really must look for this frame, rather than this core -- although of course the core is a reasonable place to start.

You're right, Trevor, the frame is what I'm after. I've done a search and found that KAG's frame is very close, but not identical. So, I'm ruling it out. Thanks so much for your comments. The search goes on...
