    Pilot Badges abound...?

I'm sure you keen Imperial collectors have seen them but it seems an entire "40 Year" collection of pilot and observer badges is currently being sold on ebay. There is quite a selection on offer. If anyone needs a link I'll get it for you.

    Any opinions on these badges?

    Happy Collecting,

    Adam

    Interesting

Hey Adam, thanks for telling us. I just looked at this guy's offering, there are some very nice badges IMP. However I am just a beginner in Imperial fight badges.
    best regards

          Don't do it!

In my opinion, every one of these is suspect. They all have Crown Marks. This is the second round of badges in 2 months by this fellow, including an extraordinary number of Sea-Pilot badges, again, all with mistruck (double) CE Juncker, Crown Marks, etc. The only item he had that I felt was real was a photograph of a Naval Observer, which I did buy. he had a nice "wearer copy" PLM that went for big bucks and an outright fake mini PLM in a Godet Box with an incorrect street address that again went for dumb money. I'm sorry, but there are no known recipients of any pre-1918 badge, that had a crown mark. No ifs ands or buts. You can argue, disagree, whatever until the end of time, you can tell me over and over about all the 1920's, 1930's replacement badges (how were these retired pilots trashing so many badges) and again I will say, I would not touch a badge with a crown mark for more than $20. My friends in Germany who have bought groupings from the actual recipients, or a recipient's family all say the same thing. NO CROWN MARK! moremad

I have to agree with Stogieman on this one. Mike

I thought this collection seemed too good to be true...but wanted to hear it from somebody with a better eye for these things.

Too bad, I tried guys! Maybe I'll find something better for you next time.

              Cheers,

              Adam
