    Ek2 Iron Cross

Hello, I know this cross is good, but what about maker? Loop stamp looks oval.

Should the iron core be moving around inside frame? This one does.

    Thanks

      Hey Kelly,

Core movement is normal. Hard to see the stamp... is it like this?

      Best regards,

Very very close but not exact. Can you tell by construction what maker? I notice the loop ring mount is the same. A few more photos.

Its a good one. Try comparing it to the ones in the database.

Thanks Don. I just looked. Can't find anything similar. Maybe a weird "S". Trevor's example is the closest.
              Thanks

The mounting ring for loop is mounted completely above the frame. Any makers with this feature?

I bumped this up. Anyone recognize the maker?

                  Thanks

The frame with the tab was commonly used by "KO" but others used it too. (Your ring marking is obviously not "KO") Ammersee

Pretty sure this one is unknown, Kelly. It's a very common core. The one I showed isn't mine, but as posted on the forum by another member.
                      Best regards,

Thanks guys. Maybe if I ever get a better pic of stamp mark, it could be added to the EK data base as unknown maker?

Of coarse there is the possibility that this is not a makers mark gone wrong. It might just be a toolmark left from the assembly of the cross.

Someone slipped with the pliers or hammer. Not everything is a makers mark.

After studying the EK maker data base, I conclude that it is probably half and half. It could be a deformed maker stamp of some kind applied improperly possibly partly missing the ring with the tool stamp when struck. It looks very close to some "s" stamps in the data base.
