Hi George. The ribbon should measure 30mm and have a nice soft silky feel to it. The cross looks good and from what I see also the doc.

Hi George,

I did a check for an Oberleutnant Genyk in both the Austro-Hungarian Common Army and Austrian Landwehr army lists editions 1914, 1916 & 1918. There is no officer of that name listed. There is however an Oberleutnant in der Reserve Michael Genik of Infanterieregiment Nr.24 listed. Three battalions of IR.24 were on the Isonzo in late 1916 although the IV./IR.24 was on the Rumanian front at this time but not under Linsingen's Army Group. He may therefore have been either attached to the German XXXXI Corps or was serving temporarily in another regiment.

He could of course have been an Hungarian Landwehr (Honvéd) officer and would therefore not have been listed in the aforementioned army lists. However he would then have correctly been a K.u. (Royal Hungarian) Oberleutnant and not k.u.k. Whether the Germans would have recognised this subtlety is another matter!
