The white row has 18 threads. And the rib count is 39 per 3 cm. In this photo you sure can spot the sticthing as different color.

That look exactly like the kind of ribbon I get from Germany. I've tried to track down the source of this ribbon but haven't had much luck. I was told this ribbon with the single stitched edge is made in Pakistan but I can't confirm it.
Evidently the old European style ribbon weaving looms weaved back and forth and left the ribbon with loops on both edges. I'm told this new type of ribbon is made on a newer type loom that uses a different system and puts the stitching along one edge. Ammersee

I again agree that this ribbon is bad and not an orig. WW1 era ribbon.

Ok thanks. I have an Original WW1 ribbon coming in the mail. I think also the entire width of the ribbon is smaller than an original. I will compare when it arrives. I will also notify the seller that it is a fake ribbon.

          Thks

Seller has read this thread and now refunded me for the fake ribbon.

Thanks to all you guys for the help and excelent knowledge.

Now I just have to make sure he knows and agrees they fake and he stops selling them with his cross's at eBay and calling them original.

"These cross are original WW1 and pass the black light test" NOT!
