Interesting thread.
Just for interest: Picture #17 and #20 are taken in the north German town of Delmenhorst (about 15km west of Bremen). Is was part of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg during the WWI. The soldiers depicted on the photo stand in front of the town hall (Rathaus), and just to the right (out of view) was (and still is) the city's war memorial erected around 1924. It has all the names of the city's fallen soldiers inscribed on stone plates (among them my grandfather's oldest brother). The pictures probably were taken on the day of its inauguration.
