Hello Jens,

try the book from Roland Kaltenegger - Die Geschichte der deutschen Gebirgstruppe 1915 bis heute, published 1980 by Motorbuch Verlag. I think it is still in print or at least available at some bookstores.
The part 1st WW and Alpenkorps is covered quite well in that book.
