    Imperial Iron cross "centers" original?

Afternoon guys, just made a large purchase of a two war 82nd airborne estate found in an abandoned storage unit. Included in this was bayonets, pickehaube, uniforms to the vet and two of these Iron Cross Centers, missing the silver beaded rims,,,could these be authentic or off something worthless/reproduction? Its really sad if they are real,

Well, there were some hard times in Germany and whenever I see these isolated cores I think that someone pulled off the silver frames to melt down as scrap silver. Here's an interesting way to cope:

                Jim,

Can you post good closeup shots of that frame? I'm thinking I recognize it...

I have a postwar two-piece core Souval EK2. It's not this one, but it's the same type:

                      hey Streptile,
could you show us some pictures of the back sides of the silver frames?
I'm very interested how the reverses look like.

                      cheers!

                        What's up Dougie.

Unfortunately that cross is not mine, nor are the photos.

Credit, which I should have given before, goes to Daniel AKA Grüni.

Here is the only other photo I have of his, which unfortunately does not show the beading rim:

Very few are hollow. Mostly they are made from two frame halves and a solid core.

Also please remember that the 1939 I show is a postwar fake.
                            Best regards,

                              CMSgt's core looks like a K.M. Ammersee
