    Militärpass 1918

    Hi guys,

I recently bought this militärpass. I know it is not the most exiting pass, or best filled in pass. But IMHO, it are not the big hero's with loads of medals and wounds who make history only. Also the little man contributes to history!!
But as a matter of fact, my german aint so good, neither is my knowledge of Sutterlin... So is there anybody who can help me to create some kind of a story of this pass??
Btw, i think there has been messed around with it, i think the EK2 is added by someone because it looks kinda strange...(ive put a red circle around it)

    Neat!!

THAT's a really nice little pass-, looks like a Catholic bavarian 19 year old who went in after school, received his training at the Bavarian Repalcement Battalion and then got sent to IR20 where he saw enough hard comabt to get and EK2 and luckily, did not get wounded.
His entire military file is now on Ancestry.com.
Chris Boonzaier seems to specialize in these sorts of Bavarians-the common fighting man-and if you ask him nicely, maybe he'll look him up for you.

IMHO the EK2 was added post war. I dont think it was a post war award though.

This guy had a very, very, very short career at a very, very quiet section of the front...

On his bavarian records there is no award entered either.

I think a Walter Mitty upgrade, or dealer upgrade.

      All the best
      Chris

P.s. One of my favourite divisions, I have some great stuff to them, but he joined the frontline troops at the end of August... there was just a general shuffling back in September... then he went missing... then seems to have turned up at the rear in a hospital... because of his feet.

I would imagine if the war was not coming to an end he would have been in deep diddly of some kind.

        best
        Chris

Egad!!! Chris is right!!! The ink on the "EK2" is different and you can see the slash where"Orden" is-someone upgraded

It's a good example in and of itself huh?

there was another document that stuck into the pass. Ive pictured them now, maybe there is some more information on these documents? What is it?

30.9.1918 he had problems with his feet. He had run his feet off (wund gelaufene Füße).
