    Deschler's unit badge

Hello everyone, that's was really an unusal flea market finding, well at least for me here in Italy..
In a box full of every kind of coins, religious medals and buttons there was this interesting badge.
The tag on the back immediately attracted my attention and then i realized it has all the campaign dates all around the badge (1815-1866-1870/71-1895-1914/18) and is written like that: "Verein Ehemaliger Ier Jager - Munchen" with an old fashion soldier with trumphet and rifle on hands.
The badge has a really nice Deschler&Sons tag on the other side and it made of some kind of alloy cause i can see some red color and maybe some silver...
The idea is that i got some kind of veteran badge for this unit, guess made right after WWI.
It looks pretty old and well done eventhough it has some little damages on the external arms of the cross.
Can anyone help me to understand what is this and eventually how it was used?
    Many thanks,
    Stefano

It appears to be a veterans association medal
