    KAG EK2 with Wiederholungsspange

I've only got one of these sets, but I like it a lot. The core-strike on the EK2 is really quite crisp, which is unusual for this core type, I think. Anyway, I tend to see them with very indistinct details. The Spange is also very nice -- a good, mean-looking design. I like the entire setup. The EK2 is marked KAG on the ring but I forgot to rotate it into view for the photos. The Spange is probably unmarked (from what I can see).

    Any comments welcome.

    Best regards,

    Nice one Trevor
I can't comment on the authenticity of the spange ( no matter how hard I try I can't figure out the different makers --good or bad on these birds)

That being said, I really like the looks of these setups. They look
and feel even better in hand.

Looks good, are the prongs broken on the spange? Appears to be stitched on.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys.

The Spange is missing two prongs -- one on top and one on bottom. It's stitched on, and the ribbon itself is stitched closed ("hemmed") in the back.

This one's got a great patina to the cross, a blackened core with sharp details, and a nice "homemade" look.
          Best regards,

I love the look of these setups. I had one once, but the spange ended up being a fake.

I've got one that's almost a twin. Unmarked, generic / KAG style core,
              with a L/18 spange.

              They are a neat setup.

I've seen yours here and there in group shots of your stuff. Is there a thread somewhere I can see good photos of it? Or can you post here?
                Best regards,

I have a couple of these. One has a Ziemer Spange and the other has a Hymmen "L/53". I'm not sure what the EKs are, but I'll take a look at them and get back to you.
(Ooops, I forgot. And one with a Hammer Spange in the works!)

Yeah, I'm interested to see them. I remember your Hymmen piece. Ugliest Spange I've seen () on a tri-fold, right?

Yes it is. Here it is (and the Ziemer) in an old group pic. I'll put up good individual scans in a few days.
