    Naughty Ribbon Bar ca. 1870!

Here's a naughty bar on Helmut Weitze's update. Everything I can see about it tells me it's legit. The price is HUGE. But why, oh why, has this naughty General mounted his Crown Order before his Red Eagle with Swords.
    Naughty, Naughty, Naughty!

So, I'm hoping my evil twin can explain!

      Nope: can't "explain" it.

And where's the 1870-71 War Medal that SHOULD go with that combatant 1870 EK2???????

Furthermore, until 1934/5, long service awards were worn AHEAD of campaign awards:
If that final dark blue was an XXV or XX Cross, it should be in FRONT of the 1866 and 1848. It might go last, in practice (non-regulation) if it was an "LD2" Landwehr brooch. But that wouldn't "compute" with this combination.

        Like I said.....

..... Naughty, naughty, naughty! BUT, despite all the issues I know, and Rick has noted, the bar still looks legit to me. That nasty, crappy sewing job is exactly what all period bars look like. Ones like this one I show below are very much the exception, NOT the rule

          Hi Rick,

please rename the thread. The recipient died in 1876. Not shown on the Ribbon bar, he had also a BMV2 around the neck...and his 2 other surnames are Lebrecht und Moritz.

The bar is quite interesting. It might be that it was arranged after the award of the EK but before the end of the war and the award of the fitting campaign medal. The Mini device is also quite odd and it is the 1st time I see a peacetime KO3 worn in front of a RAO4X.

Ach ja, the prize...IF I would still be a single....

          Best regards

          Daniel

The red eagle order comes on a ribbon the same as an ek? Damn! that's confusing. How do you then know it is a REO? How many awards come on the black and white ribbon? Where did you Imperialoids start out to learn this stuff? Where is the place I should start? I already harrass Rick L half to death with questions. There must be a way I can find the simple answers for myself.
            Best, Sal

Non-combat Red Eagles are on a white ribbon with orange-red stripes near the edge. Most Prussian awards, when given for combat, were worn on the Iron Cross ribbon:

I don't have a picture of the Militär-Ehrenzeichen 1. Klasse with the ribbon, but other than that, what have I missed?

Dear Werner. Can you advise me if there was any printed books with a series of photos of high ranking Imperial German officers similar to the one posted here or is that image simply one from your own collection.Thank you.

                    Hi Mike,

It's from the Priessdorff - 10 books with prussian generals from 1700 until 1900.

This one comes with a ribbon like an EKII as well. Prussian Militär-Ehrenzeichen 1864-1918 medal second class. Mike
