I passed up a few similar items a while back. Small lockets with soldier's pictures in them. Wish I had picked them up now. Great item you have there.

These items are great. Very personal and you actually see the individual. Garunteed done for one of two reasons. Either as a rememberance when the soldier was away at war or as a memorial if he was killed in action. Maybe both. A nice addition to an Imperial collection. The thing about something like this is, you probably never paid much, but try finding another similar one. Won't be easy.
