    Unusual EK2 makers mark.

    Gentlemen,
I've just picked up this EK2. I've never come across a mark like this before, any thoughts on what it is or the maker please? These are the only pics I have at the moment until I get the cross in hand.

          Hi Adrian,

I'd like to see a much larger (clear) pic of that marking. It looks like there is scroll work inside the oval border?

          Regards
          Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Steve, thank you for your reply. It looks like a positive ID.
Here you go Mike, I can't do too much with the pic at the moment as it becomes pixelated, I've rotated it 180. I know what you mean though, I thought it was an unusual, ornate mark so I took the chance on it.
However, upon closer inspection and comparing it to George's example here (post #6): http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=265963
I'm thinking Steve has it spot on......

That particular maker's mark is very distinctive. When I saw your post that is what sprang to mind.

Here is Adrians cross and a known good +M+ marked cross.
                I think it's most likely a match.

The "+" looks like a clover leaf. Ammersee

                      Thank you Guys,
The photo Greg posted shows it clearly. Although I have another +M+ cross and the stamp looks different again.......
