Mini EK I Stick Pin & Box???

Hi guys, I can't remember where I picked this up, but it was back when I was building my Imperial cased EK I collection.
My questions are is the mini stick pin authentic (9MM) ??? and what is the box for, just holding medals?

I would tend to think it's an ek2 1914 because of only one cross, 2 for an ek1
Is the back of that cross grooved for the pin?
Looks kinda strange.

I would agree it's an EK2. I've seen these exact boxes for sale holding many different things, including Prinzen EKs.

Trevor, does the cross looked grooved in the back to you?
If so, have you ever seen this before?

I just looked at the reverse with a loop & it's not grooved, looks like it was sautered (?) on.

Yes my friend, I believe so. It came with the stick pin
