    Kampfwagenabzeichen

    Gentlemen,

a friend of mine in Germany has been offered today some decorations, amoung them this Kampfwagenabzeichen. It shall be hollow, weight shall be 39g. I think the most competent experts are here to find, so may i ask for your help and your opinions about this piece ?
Sorry for the poor quality pictures, but no better are available at moment.

    Thanks for your help
    Regards
    Markus

The front looks pretty good but why the Meybauer reverse set up? What are the measurements? There is a good fake of the Juncker style that uses this reverse.

                Thanks Don,

i will try to get the measurements from the seller. I think it is made from copper/brass, the polished edges on the obverse show the typical red colour of copper.

                Regards Markus

Markus, I look forward to seeing them. I have data from two Juncker pieces that have Detlev COAs with which to compare. Whether any are real is of course anyone's guess but we can at least tell if they all came from the same die.

Cooper os a very bad sign. I knew a guy in Germany that specialized in making cooper based electroformed fakes. Read here for more information: http://www.medalnet.net/Electroplating.htm

Perhaps silver plated tombak? I see no proofmark for silver content. Still, the badge has other issues that need resolved.

The width measurement is a little small. Are you sure it is 45mm?
