    Homemade Wuerttemberg

I doubt even Rick has seen one like this. I thought it was a touching piece.

The wood is a nice hardwood veneer stock that has been quite nicely fitted into the original metal two medal bar. I found it fascinating that a vet and his wife put this much time and effort into the final two medals of this man's career. It looks fine from the front.

And not only Other Ranks were cheap, pfennig-pinching tightwads! I've got a former Kapitän zur See's ribbon bar, the tabbed backing type, with an "extra one" backing filed and locked down through the other tabs to extend out for adding his Hindenburg Cross in circa 1935 to the earlier Spange, all moved into correct looking--from the front--precedence. Hey, a RM is a RM!

Note the LS medal. The sheer number of these bars-with this exact combination of medals would suggest that Wuerttemberg, as well as Bavaria and Saxony gave out LS medals during or just after the war.
