    Comments on 1813 EK

    Dear Collectors

I would appreciate comments for more knowledgeable members on this particular 1813 EK. It is not mine and unfortunately I do not have the funds to purchase it. But I am still interested in learning as much as I can about these. To me it checks out fine, the hooks on the reverse appear to be of the correct type. Although the pictures are not very clear, the iron core also appears quite nice and period. Would this be classed as a first issue piece or one of the later 1850s - 1860s pieces?

Thanks in advance, I really enjoy reading these discussions regarding 19th century EKs.

I would like to see much more detail in the photos. I like what I see so far, but it's really pretty hard to tell. I like the frame. The loops look a bit thick, but I prefer to see them thicker rather than thinner. I'd really like to see close-ups of the core to determine age, and the frame.
