Help with pin ID?

Hi, all.....

I received this lapel pin as part of a group of items that I am posting. I have never seen one of these before. It bears a "Sterling Silver" stamp on the reverse.

I am assuming it is for an EK recipient.

Can you help to identify it?

Interesting hybrid of design elements (crown, FW, oaks, 1914) from ob. and rev. of an EK core. I think this is probably a patriotic piece.

The mixing of obverse and reverse EK II features: FW and leaves being on the same side indicate to me that this is not of German manufacture. The Sterling Silver mark is also very "American" looking to me.


I can't place the wreath right now, but it looks like a combination of US Army weapon qualification badge and TR period combat awards.


An educated guess is that it is a patriotic piece; just this one was made in the USA sometime after the war.


Nevertheless a very interesting piece.

Interesting take Brad. We did have a large germanic population here in 1914 and I'm sure they were very patriotic towards the home country, especially against their ancient enemy.
