      Gentlemen:
I have pics to post, but the WAF computer will only allow this one pic of the reverse!

At last the obverse. This may be real. Does anyone else have one? Opinions, supported by facts would be welcomed.

Looking at this pinback, I am really not sure what it is. I do not believe that it is a military award. The Prussian eagle's that I have seen on military awards have a black and white shield over the chest with an orb in one talon and a scepter in the other.

If I had to guess (and this is just a guess) it could be a patriotic piece of some sort. Could you provide any futher information on this?

Carl, I wish I had further information, I don't. This is why I posted the pics, hoping somebody would know what it is. It is not military, I believe it may be the Order of the Black Eagle, which was given only to royalty, and was a civil order.

I think it unlikely that it has anything to do with the Order of the Black Eagle. The wings are shaped differently, and the eagle on the order is clutching a lightning bundle and wreath in its talons. The eagle on this piece seems different from any of the prussian orders.

I have no idea what it is, but this thing is not in any way related to Prussia's "High Order of the Black Eagle".
