    Sachsen Ehrenkreuz with swords

    Hi,

here is a nice bronze-gilt Ehrenkreuz mit Schwertern (Honor Cross with Swords) of the Saxon Kingdom. It was awarded until 1918 for war merits but originally it was a civilian award. I have no award numbers but I think it is quite rare.
Note the very interesting style of the cross.

    Hi majorpayne,

very nice and rare piece. I dont know the exact numbers of issued pieces (I think only some hundred), but it was an high end miliary merit (not bravery) award for NCO´s.

    Best greetings

    Daniel

        Hi,

I have one of these as well but it is much more worn, the ribbon loop has been repaired and it's on the wrong ribbon. The only numbers I could find were in Neal O'Connor's Aviation Awards...Vol III - Saxony. He only gives the numbers for foreigners as 86 - he couldn't find the award number for native Saxons.

        Regards
