    Ek2 1914 - "u"???

    Hello people,

This EK2 arrived in the last week. Looks good for me, but the centes looks like thin for me. The mark of the manufacture looks like "U" for me...

    Regards,

    William Schmidt

      hello wschmidt,
The cross looks OK, but the maker mark is to an "unknown" maker. Unless someone else might know the maker. Also, how wide is this cross in MM? It looks like it might be a wide frame....maybe?
Othe members will give their opinions as well.

          I agree with Moral5000,
There were a couple of different "KO" type cores used and the one you have here is IMO the better of the two.

          KOs are my favorite!!

44mm tall x 44 mm wide? If this is true then you may have a TR made piece.
either way you got your self a wide frame 1914 EK 2nd klasse..

                Hi William,

It's a very nice piece, but not TR made. TR made EK2s used a few different cores and this is not one of them.

It may also have a wide frame, but it's not what we generally call a "Wideframe," which refers to one particular pre-1939 EK frame, and also (incidentally) to '24' marked 1939 EK2s.
                Best regards,
