Bayerischer Militar Verdianst Orden 4 Klasse

    Hello gents
here my preferred cased orden, I 'm a III Reich collector but IMO this is the nicest decoration manufactured in about the last 150 years in Germany. No doubts for me, it 's wonderful...

May be the maker is WC in the left part, 950 in the right

In the true, the best decoration is with crown but no money available for that, I 'm just happy for this one.
Blade marked 900 more something I think

WC would be Weiss & Co - the lettering should also be before the 900 on the swords. These are nicely enameled awards but imo the JL (Jacob Leser) examples are the best quality.

                Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

This order is Bavarian, and not made in Prussia...

Very nice late WW1 (circa 1916-1918) cross by Weiss & Co. with gilt centers, in the late war red case. Earlier WW1 pieces came in a blue case and had real gold medaillons.

ahahah.. ok, you are right of course, please apologize me for this my error, I want to say the nicest cased decoration from your country and was wrong to write the country/state when in the true there were many regions, I have correct post # 1.

Thanks Mike and Sasha for your replies, interesting to have these infos.

I agree, it's one of my favorite medals as well. Does anyone know what is the significance of the "belt" and "buckle" that are located around the center medallion? I've noticed several British awards also have this belt and buckle and thought it was unusual for both of these countries to have a similar device on a medal. Ammersee
