Iron Cross - a few teoretical questions

    Hi!

As we all know there is 1813, 1870 and 1914 versions of EK (and 1939 of course...). And I've got some teoretical questions about granting of that versions:

    1. In what years 1813 was awarded?
    2. The same as above for 1870?
    3. If someone has an outstanding act of bravery in field (f.e. in colonial wars) in years 1816-1870 he would get an 1813 version?
    4. If someone has an outstanding act of bravery in field (f.e. in colonial wars) in years 1871-1914 he would get an 1870 version?
    5. If someone in 1864 and 1866 wars deserved for an EK he would get it? Because there are commons medal bars with f.e. EK 1870 and f.e. Koniggrazt 1866, but hard to find that bar with an 1813 EK... so that recipient got EK 1870 for 1866 war or for 1870 war? Or maybe later?

Many questions, I know, but I'll be thankful for some explanations

see my comments above in red. The EK was only institued and awarded during times of grave national crisis. Once the war was over it was not authorized for issue for other actions. The Imperial time had numerous other awards to issue for bravery instead.
