    Rick..Help! German guy info!!

I hauled in 9 WW1 EK docs today to make the big 160... one of them is to a Leutnant Luczny im Feldartillerie Regt (von Clausewitz) Nr 21 serving in the Inf Regt 63, awarded the EK1 on 4 Sept 1916 for fighting on the Somme .

    No first name.

Only guy I get when I type that into Google is a RK winner from WW2...

    Can you help ?

    Thanks
    Chris

I'm sooooooooo sorry to disappoint you, Chris:

this is just ALFONS Luczny (4 June 1894 Katscher/Oberschlesien-12 August 1985 Einbeck) who never amounted to anything...

only Luftwaffe Generalleutnant 1.2.44, commander of 2. Flak Division, Ritterkreuz d. EK 9.6.44, DKiG 1.10.44.

Unfortunately I only have one photo of him as a happy M43'd '44 General type person wearing some big ugly thing around his neck. Fullest day by day career details in Hildebrand's LW v. 2, but why bother with such a nonentity?

Now tell us you got it for €25!?

      Hi Rick,

No, $25 would have been a steal, I had to pay $40 for it.

$25 is what I paid for the EK2 doc to Max Bayer, for leading one of the 2 Battalions that Ludendorf took with him to capture Luttich in the Germans first and most important move in invading Belgium in 1914 ;-)

Noone cares about the content here in Germany, just the print style....

Forty bucks for a Luftwaffe General/Knight's Cross/German Cross winner!--

        YOU WAS ROBBED!!!!!

What on earth a trained artillery officer was doing for two years (1915-1917) in an infantry regiment is not explained, but he ended up as regimental adjutant there.

Let me know if you need any of the promotion and assignment details... or post scan of the document
