This is what happens when 2 antique dealers form a partnership,but one is a money grubbing "moron" who knows weapons and toys while the other knows militaria and books .The militaria gent calls me and says," meet me at the antique show,200 miles away,next week 'cause I have a surprise for you!"Well,it was a surprise.The "moron" half of the pair had stripped the bar and sold the medals to various people the week before,probably as we were speaking on the phone (this is the same yahoo
who cut the bows off of a Bulgarian/German group because they made it look effeminate).The gent was embarrassed,his partner was suddenly busy,and I was P.O.'d AND left.I didn't know what was on the bar and nor did I care.After sufficient cooling I did find out that some pieces went to Australia and who the buyer was.He was a very "persuasive person "(ie. bully )who wants it now and for ridiculous prices.I still don't know what was on the bar as Imperial German was not the gent's speciality and offered to descibe the pieces and ribbons,but what was the point?
The neat thing about the bar is that you can see the ribbing from the ribbons on the obverse and the stitching on the reverse.The holes were punched to fit the ribbon devices and not done well.It is interesting to see the construction techniques used.
Lesson reinforced:There's a !@#$%!@#$^ born everyday and we may want something he has(as if we don't know that).

Holy sh**t!!!

That reminds me on my bar with the ripped EK 70 oakleaves to sell it separately! At least I could buy the bar with the ribbons still on it.
The Idiots will never die out!

oh well,what can you say?

The description was vague,"There was a yellow ribbon near the end of the bar;a silver cross with a blue ribbon and no enamel;another cross with a blue ribbon,but different blue;a medal on a ribbon that had a bunch of stripes on it."
That's all I can remember of what he could remember after things(well, I)cooled down.Could have been colonial,I don't know and probably better if I don't.I wouldn't like it in jail so far away from my collection(disregard that last transmission it should have said loved ones;that way it could have multiple meanings).
