For Jack: Third Reich Era Medal Bars

Posted for Jack. Yes, these date after Imperial times, but are of interest first to us for the Imperial decorations. Maybe we'll let those zinky crud TR types look at these later.

This is an exceptionally nice Frackspange, for a fellow still below Hauptmann rank in WWI, yet service from before 1897, so he must have been a technical officer or some sort of Beamter who saw front action. He was still seeing a lot of "action" during the 1938-9 "flowers campaigns," when he was well into his 60s!

This one ought to get Daniel going, anyway! I've asked Jack if the arches in the Oval Carl Eduard are pierced or solid. What's the medal between the Prussian XV and the Polizei 25? The WW2 KVK2 civil is out of order, but typically so in a period error.

I'm not sure about the second ribbon. It should be half black and half yellow. Do I see stripes, Jack?

This one I'd say has simply had a Third Reich 40 Years Cross switched for a correct 25 Years service one, since this junior Saxon enlisted man in WWI only got an IX Years Service Medal with his bronze FAM--indicating service from 1915 to 1920.

And this one sure indicates one regiment for its original owner, doesn't it?

The medal in the middle is an Anhalt Civil Long Service Medal, rather scarce, actually!!

Not Anhalt. It's the combined DA for the 3 Saxon duchies (<i>gemeinsame Dienstauszeichnung für Unteroffiziere und Mannschaften sowie Gendarmeriekorps</i>) for either 12 or 9 years. It's Nimmergut 2575 or 2576.
