    Vizeadmiral Carl Wedding

    Hi!

For all those who like to see a chest full of medals, check out this pic on E-bay.de

Yeah, but he just padded it out with veteran's awards. Glory hound!

Note the second-to-last order on the medal bar. That must have annoyed a few fellow vets.

      Greetings Fellow Forumoids:

Ricky's Imperial Guru OWNS Wedding's medals-- all of them-- including his post-Hindenburg Cross as the bar was finally mounted up (and shown in his biography in Biblio's Admirals volumes), his dagger, etc etc

Please don't bid on this so HE can get an original photo to go with everything else. I'm sure the Foto Fanatics will be out there anyway, but no sense driving price up against...

somebody on whom I rely for a lot of all that research that I do here--and from whom research that has and will benefit people here has come and will be coming.

I have played with Vice Admiral Wedding's group. Wuzzamatta Dave, a first type Michael and George (for China) got you drooling?

Wow! Rick it would be nice to see the "Spange" in original colors... can you scan the medal bar?

I must say that the disposition of the medals on the bar is quite exotic to say the least... he placed all the semi-official veterans' and commemorative awards before the other crosses given for war merit. Or did he on purpose place all these with the Prussian orders and decorations before the other states' awards? Beautiful also the English and the Spanish orders at the end of the bar! The Zentenar-Medaille 1897 seems to be a Spangenstück (Prinzengrösse).

Very nice indeed... but it looks like a Christmas tree!!!

        Ciao,

        Claudio

The post-1934 medal bar has everything "correct." It is only a net loss of TWO, replacing the three unofficial veterans' pieces with the Hindenburg CrossX, and in correct precedence-- same bar shows in the book portrait.

When it comes to scanning etc, my guru makes me look like a technical genius, alas. That would definitely require a digital camera, since the bar is too long to fit on a scanner!!!

Ricky's Imeprial Guru will be VERY happy that this IS going to live at his house!
