i have a question,just picked up a sword, pre-ww1,prussia blue paneled sword marked brunswick, regimental no. 17, other side marked peninsula,sicilien,waterloo and marslatore,also blued panel, what does it signify? i sorry no camera, greg

From your description, I assume that your sword looks like the one shown below. As such, these swords belonged to the men in the Brunswick Hussar Regiment nr. 17.

Here is a close-up of the other side of my sword blade. Unfortunately, as you can see, it is very badly worn. Inspected closely, it shows a panorama of a cavalry attack.Comment
