    Two Wars....Two Medals

Getting more interested in Imperial medals, and have accumulated quite a few over the years not knowing much about them.

Just now learning about them, and welcome any education.

I think these two are great for their history and constuction from captured cannons.

An 1813/1814 medal and the companion 1870/1871 medal.

                        Nice to see

I think the non-com ones from the Liberation Wars had the "rounded-edge" cross motif, and all the combatant ones had the "straight-edge" motif like yours. Can anyone confirm?
                        Best regards,

Looking for ROUND BUTTON 1939 EK1 Spange cases (LDO or PKZ)

Ron, your Napoleonic medal is an outstanding example, condition is excellent, and it looks like the ribbon might be period, which is rare for these. Trevor, the two versions with either straight or sharp arms on the cross are differentiated by the mint they were struck at, either Paris or Berlin. The non-combat issues were oval and produced from iron, and the colors of the ribbon were inverted.

Thanks Vince, I do now recall seeing the oval-shaped non-coms.
