    Dear Sirs
I am being offered this piece, with the "right history". Don't know much about this type.
Do you think this could be real from the period or is it a later copy.
Sorry fore the pictures, but all i have fore now.
    Best Regards
    Lars

A 1870 with a RZM and SS -stamp? Screwback could be replaced i guess but overall quality says cast. This one is very bad imo.

Terrible! We don't need to talk about the SS stamp and other details...

My advice, stay away from this EK

One of the worst fakes I've seen in quite a while.

A very rare 1870 EK1 awarded to a SS Mann...

                  Hello

I'm only learning about these 1870 EKs at the moment, but I'd run a mile from this one. The photos aren't the best, but even so it is clearly apparent that this is a very badly cast copy - actually, given it's being sold as 'the real deal', an outright fake.

                  Regards
                  David

Thanks a lot for your help

I had never seen these before in real, and i wont see it now. Thanks for your comments, they saved me from a lot of and money too.
The sellers story about he found it back in the 50'es on a german roof was good anyhow.
                      Best Regards - and respect!

Stories are just that, words. Let the item do the talking.

Currently the most common fake on ebay. These can be found with the
RZM marks or stamped Deschler and Sohn, D&S and GesGesch.

Easily identified by the distintive style of "8" in the 1870 date.

1870 Iron Crosses are heavily faked. Do your research before you buy anything.
