Storage of Red Eagles and Orders of the Crown

Red Eagles and Orders of the Crown have a medallion that sticks out from the medal and can become worn or damaged from impact or the friction of rubbing.

Does anyone have experience with storing and displaying Imperial Orders such as Red Eagles and Orders of the Crown in the lockable glass display cases where the order is sandwiched between the foam behind the decoration and the glass on top of the medal? Has anyone experienced damage to the medallion from scratching on the glass? Has anyone experienced damage to the medallion from the pressure of the glass on the medallion causing the medallion to bend (Orders of the Crown) or crack (Red Eagles)?

Carl, I have a couple of these display cases, and as long as the decorations aren't moving in the case, they are great for storing medals such as the RAO and PKO.
