and committed it to memory. Now its time to take the test. Which of the two MGSS badges below is a fake, top or bottom?

Time to reveal the answer. I posted this because I see many of these for sale and hoped that someone was learning from the thread. The top one is indeed a common fake. The lack of detail becomes readily apparent next to a good one. The fake lacks the depth of an original. Kudos to all that got it right. The search goes on. I am still looking for one marked with the Carl Leber company in Strasbourg.

I was at a military show a couple weeks ago and saw a MG badge.
It's the first one I have seen in person. When I turned it over I saw
it was marked Juncker so I set it down and walked away. I am leary
of most everything marked Juncker.

Greg, no need to be leary just because of a mark. The thread above has several examples of good Juncker badges to use as reference as well as several pics of the Juncker fake.
