    Imperial Officers artillery sword

This sword was picked up at an estate auction about 20 years ago.It looks to be a junior officers sword. Does anyone have information on the maker, (I can't find a maker mark) or unit history of the regiment on the blade? thank you.

I know nothing about swords but I do know about metal engraving. That is a very nice scene etched into your blade. Very good quality work. My compliments, both to the person that etched the scene and to you for collecting it. Ammersee

And it's not for a junior officer but for an EM: those "Extrawaffen" are private purchases, almost similar to Reservisten steins.

Thank you very much for the information and comments guys. If anyone has more to add please do.
I'm still wondering about the manufacturer, (usually it's on the blade by the hilt, but this has nothing.) and what the numbers mean on the hilt.

It's very common for these walking-out swords to have no maker marks. The marking on the guard is a unit property mark...8th Field Artillery Regiment, 5th Battery, weapon number 36.
