    St. Barbara Pray For Us!

St. Barbara is the patron Saint of the Artillery.

Looks like a token from 1915 asking for her help.

At least she's riding "side-saddle" with that interestingly shaped device held off to one side. Wouldn't want that going off any place important!

Where is Camille Paglia when you need her analysis?

              Best regards,

Ay caramba, that's a little Freudian. Indeed, the artillery boys take this seriously, as I've been to several St. Barbara's Day dinners with the local field artillery regiment.

                    Hi Ron,
Thanks for the pic, I really enjoy these "religious" pieces and this one is a beaut!
