Guys, just noted a marking on an R marked EK2, it's on the small ring and is definately a dot within a diamond or lozenge shape, anyone seen this before? If not will put some pics up.

Could you please post pics? The lozenge shape is consistent with Rothe marks but I do not know if they are related to what you describe. We had some discussion not long back about Rothe marked EKs and their cases. Steve -
