    1870 Godet EK2

For a few months I've had my eye out for a Godet 'slim 7' EK2. In part, I just acquired a fascination with Godet pieces after I bought a gorgeous Imperial EK set. I browsed through the forum's photos of them (Tiger1's are lovely) and put my mind to finding one. A few weeks ago I asked for opinions on one I found for sale at a good price, and got a few good 's.

Well, I received it today (paid it off in a few installments). In the old thread there was some speculation that the core was repainted. I don't believe this is the case. Also of note is the small (presumably period) repair to the jump ring, which was stated in the item's description.

    41.4mm X 41.4mm
    16.7g (w/o ribbon)

    Here are some new photos.

Your comments and opinions are very welcome.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

I hadn't thought of the repaired jump ring as additional evidence of authenticity, but of course you're right.
