    Flea market Ek2

I picked this up at a flea market this last weekend. It's a "W-S" marked
cross on a court mount style ribbon. There is just a small remnent of navy
blue backing material still attached. It's pretty rough but is was such a
cheap price I couldn't say no.

This is my first court mount Ek2.

    Nice catch, Greg.

No pin left on this one?

I like this particular style of mounted EK the best of the 3 or 4 I can think of.

    Thanks for showing it.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

      Hi Greg,

That's why I loooove flea markets. Nice example - and it displays well despite the missing reverse.

        Hi Greg,

It's a nice mounted EK2, but I have a strong suspicion that the absence of any indication of a hinge an catch indicates this is probably part of a broken up medal bar, rather than a single court mount. I'll be interested to hear what other have to say.

        Regards
        Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

I have to agree with Mike. At one time this was part of a larger bar. Still a nice cross though.

Here's another, same style. I think the holes are there in case you want the medal sew down so it doesn't swing. Ammersee

                  Another opinion
Which ever way it ends up, it's still a keeper although I do hate the thought of someone butchering medalbars.

                  Ammersee,
Thanks for posting that Franz Joseph medal. It 's a great looking piece.
