Veteran pin

This is just a common item but can you tell what kind of unit this was by the pin? Also this one is pretty big would it have been a hat badge for a veterans org or just a big pin?

I think these were normally suit lapel pins.

Thanks chip -- this one is huge though with pins on the back like for a visor.

Same style from Wiesbaden, a veterans badge. Also with the text "Ich diente treu dem Vaterland" and "Raus aus (Wiesbanden)"
