One you don't see every day

Here is a rather uncommon decoration which I came across on eBay. It is the Zivildienstauszeichnung, or Civil Service Long Service Award, from the Duchy of Saxe-Altenburg. It was awarded from 1913 to 1918. Anyone know if that is the correct ribbon?

case was unmarked on the outside, but a perfect fitted tray for the medal.

          and one more

The sad thing was, that despite the fact that this was by far one of the prettiest Saxon pieces I ever owned, when it was time to sell, no-one wanted it because it was a civil award, as opposed to military.
I don't care, still one of the finest pieces of workmanship I ever held.
          Congrats Dave!
Oh yes, it is also exceptionally rare!

              yes, on the obverse!

Hi Christian, yes, the wreath on mine was enameled on the obverse, but plain, worked metal on the reverse. The detail & enamel work on the back of mine was just as exquisite as the front. ONLY one of these I ever saw cased and with Dave's, this makes exactly three I've seen ever!

                Don't congratulate me

I was just pointing the medal out. It is still on eBay. I did e-mail the seller to say that if the group doesn't sell (his opening bid is pretty high), I might be interested in it if he sells the medals separately, but if anyone wants to go for it, it is there.

I guess he pulled it because I could not find it on ebay USA or Germany. What was the price of this piece?
