    Material on Alfred Meyer-Waldeck?

    Hi,
A German friend of mine is preparing his PhD about the former German colony in Kiautchow.
As he’s not member of the WAF, he asked me for assistance and I’d like to ask, if any of you guys knows something about the disposition of the document grouping of the former commander of Kiauchow lease hold, Captain Alfred Meyer-Waldeck.
He’s not collector but likes to know if there are any written documents, e.g. letters, postcards, exists.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ookami

    Oakami,

among the files of the Bundesarchiv (Berlin) there are some documents dealing with Alfred Meyer-Waldeck:

    Signature: N 253/24 Bd. 7
    RM 16/46
    RM 16/47

      Thanks Gerdan,
I'll pass this info to my colleague.

Could it be possible, that all (private) documents, awards, etc. of Meyer-Waleck are still in family property?

I think, I am not 100% sure, that the Waldeck family continues to inhabit their estate and holdings. I visited the Waldeck family castle last year. I hope this is of some help.

To Ookami; I will very interested in your friend's findings as Kiautschou is one of my key areas of collecting.

To Gerdan; Regarding the files in the Bundesarchiv that pertain to Meyer Waldeck. Since you knew the exact file numbers, are you also familiar with what they contain?

            Thanks for your info.

@Paul Chepurko: Hm, not too bad. I guess, he needs to get in touch with them. Did you had a chance to talk to somebody during your stay at the castle?

            @Claudius: PM sent

I did not stay at the castle. I only visited the grounds. It would not hurt to write a letter to the current occupant of the castle. I Google search should turn up the address.
