Imperial? Prussian? Heavy Solingen Cavalry Sabre/Sword

This is one of my favorite items, not too sure why, I don't even really know what it is. It's just so heavy and solid, a real "for actual use" sabre, with the beautiful wooden grip.
Anyway it's made by Alcoso, which as i'm sure you all know is Alexander Coppel of Solingen. It's marked with a few numbers in various places some of which are crossed out.
I'm guessing it's cavalry as it's a Sabre but apart from that I have no idea at all of well anything.
Any information would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

my guess would be that it is an Italian, Sciabola mod. 1871 da cavalleria

    Best regards,
    Michel
