Austrian rank ?

I am no specialist in austrian imperial uniforms and (even worse) I have no literature about it.

Here's a photo I got together with a lot of other 1st WW austrian photos.

Just tell me what rank is that and what decorations is he wearing.

Hey Robert,

Actaully.. the picture is of a Hungarian (probably somewhere dating 30's to 40's)
Lieutenant Colonel (can't tell the branch as I don't know what the background color is)....

The Orders are:

1) Austrian Order of the Iron Crown with swords and wreath (the order is backwards, you can just barley make out the wreath on the other side)...

2) Order Military Merit with swords and wreath...

3) Can't tell what this one is....

2nd medal

Here is a pic of the Military Merit Order (middle one)

And the last one is the 1918 Karl Wound medal for two wounds (number of wounds shown by stripes in the center of the ribbon). This Hungarian officer is definitely wearing "most important ONLY" awards and not all he earned.

Thanks a lot for the answers.
These medals look great. Nice to see them in full color.
Austrian and hungarian army is a subject which is a bit "forgotten" over here. Of course there are collectors in austria and few in bavaria, but most people I know, have a deeper interest in german awards then those of our former allies.
