      a aircrew badge didn't exist in imperial germany. This is a retired badge and i don't like it.

            I feel the guys are right , it does not quite make it as a Maybauer Fliegererinnerungsabszeichen. Detail is a little too soft especially around the eagle ,the bird looks a little under nourished too! This particular copy is characteristic by its oversize outer acorns around the oak leaves. Wrong pin/catch set-up for a typical Maybauer. I have seen several of these knocking around. Ferg1.
