    1870 Bar Question

    Gents,

It is with great sadness I must part with this bar I purchased from my dear friend Tony Colson. I paid it off some time back and have no idea what current market price would be. I believe Eric Krause said it was to General Jurgen Scmidt.

May I be so crass as to ask the going rate? I want to put it on e-stand and see if she sells to a fellow collector before posting to an auction house.

    Kind regards,
    Marc

<<<(gulp)>>> I....I don't know. I don't trust myself to give an answer. Nice bar.

One technique is to add up the individual medals then add 10%. If the name can be confirmed, then add ???%.

You should be able to find a nice home for him. Again, if the identity can be confirmed and if there was a photo of him then...

It's worth more than I can currently afford to spend. Of coarse these
days that doesn't take too much

Good luck with it. I hope it finds a good home.

The wearer was General Jürgen Schmidt (1847-1923), at least it was identified as his. I know a Daniel Krause and know there used to be a Eric Ludvigsen, but don't know a Eric Krause. ;o)

Great bar, but no idea how that should sell. 10% plus for an identified General's bar does not sound too much, but depends on which "100%" we start.
