I didn't understand nsdap79's Brooklyn accent ..."I'm bay this beer mug cower". if he means that he is going to ebay the item, then post a minimum of $5 and let the market forces drive the price.

Mugs (with their covers) are judged individually on their rarity, quality, and condition. Here you have a cover in great condition and a mug in missing condition. To a mug collector it may be of interest only as specimen of this type of mug cover. I don't believe anyone would want to use it to marry it to a perfectly good mug. In general, stoneware mugs are particularly brittle in comparison to their metal tops. I'm sure historically a lot of mug tops were left orphan by vigorous toasting by their handlers.

While the complete mugs would go for over $40 I can't imagine that the cover alone would fetch very much. But this is not my field.

Looks identical to one I sold a year or more back, I got then about $45 for it, did you get it from the UK? If so, it may well have been me.
