    Another semi-odd three medal bar

Can someone explain the order of the medals on this bar? On 99.99% of bars I've seen the EK is in the premiere position.

Did this fellow consider himself more Bavarian than Prussian?

You have to remember that in 1866 the Bavarians fought WITH Austria AGAINST Prussia. Some of them still don't consider themselves Germans.

        The Self-inflated Bavarians

The requirements for wearing decorations required that all soldiers place their Prussian Decorations and Orders in front of any others, even their own duchy, kingdom, etc. BUT! The Bavarians thought quite highly of themselves, as did the Saxons. these two Kingdoms were the strongest of the German States, after Prussia and native sons of Bavaria & Saxony would wear their OWN Kingdoms awards before any Prussian Ones. Of course, combat decorations take precedence still, hence the EK2 before the long service medal.
