At least one expirienced collector believes it is good.

Ouch. Watch his listings for 'garantiert original' Freikorps stuff too.

I am one of those who think that this can be a period item.
If i see the large pics from the scanner, i can not find any critical point, but the red cross.
The photos in hand are very bad, and the seller did not clean or polish the core, so you see dust and fingerprints and not a shining black surface.
Otherwise i know these red crosses with narrow red arms on period Godet-Crown Orders, so i would not judge about this without control in my hands. The seller is not very expierienced with imperial awards, but at least a correct dealer.
What are your arguments to declare this item a 100% fake ?
I think everything -except the red cross - is matching my cross and also the one shown by Mr. Doering. But i´m always prepared to learn more about .......

they’re two different types off the cross.( core type's )

that one is close to what i saw some thime back beeing the second type.( and jes ,made a litle sloppyer as the first type)

ps the cross schown by doering is found with the mark z also

                      maybe interesting

the ek2 1914 with emaille core's have the saime type off crown as the jfk first type .

                      regards kay

ps ,,one look at the details off the W ,,,well,, no copyer made that kind off efford to detail ever in history off copying.
                      not even on a PLM

In this pic the "enamel" appears to have brush strokes in it.

                          Uuuups, shame over me,
It is a different type of core. Compare the crowns, on the left mine, on the right ebay.
@Kay, do you have pictures of the two types of cores you mentioned ?

                          Regards
