      Unusual pin system....I think.

PS: Ich kann nicht fuer das Abzeichen sprechen, aber die Nadel sieht doch aus wie aus dem Naehkasten, oder nicht?

You can find that style pin on period patriot pieces.

Wirklich? Ich habe nicht dieses vorher gesehen, but I can't confess to knowing all variations of this badge. Especially the Schott marked an unmarked Schott.

"Ich kann nicht fuer das Abzeichen sprechen, aber die Nadel sieht doch aus wie aus dem Naehkasten, oder nicht?" -Indeed.

              Hi,

and how about the badge itself?

Just a repaired original or total fake?

Can't tell by the photo. I will need close-up shots of front and back that shows the detail. Include shots around the pin and where he was attached to the badge.

                Thanks

I don't like the badge. I have not come across this construction before on a period piece.

If it were me, I would have it in my collection. At least not without some substantiation of this variant.

The rounded cut outs are strange. Definately not saw marks.

                        Don,

please take a look to this shot.

In my opinion, this badge is 100% original.

                        Do you agree?

I thought about placing a bid on the auction, too. But I did not place a bid like a lot of other collectors. I think the most of them had doubts. Me too. Sometimes are such auctions a chance to get nice stuff. If it is real one, it was a very good deal. I think the price was under 80 Euro, right?

                              Hi,

you are right, the price was very good.

But it is more importent to me, if the badge is original.

I see no arguments, why it should not be original.

I have a U-Boat badge of the WW II with the same needle system.

And this badge has also a little wearing.

I feel, that it is easy, to say yes to a textbook badge.

But for me, it is more interwting to find badges, they are not textbook but original.

                              Are there any other opinions?

                              Stefan
